“
Injuries and Illnesses suffered by Nelson and his Adversaries”
This year our traditional Trafalgar Day Lunch will be celebrated exactly to the day that history’s greatest Naval Battle was fought 220 years ago.
APC President Stephen Barker will present on the horrific injuries and illnesses suffered by Nelson and his adversaries during the most significant Napoleonic Naval Battles leading up to his final hours on the 21st of October 1805.
This year’s presentation has been pulled together with the assistance of a number of experts, including Oliver Greeves, a descendant of Lord Nelson’s first wife Fanny and an author of some note on the topic.
There will be heroic behaviour on an epic scale, so now is the time to channel your inner Rear-Admiral, embrace your band of brothers and prepare yourself for some swashbuckling fun.
Guest Speaker
Stephen Barker
Stephen is President of the Australasian Pioneers’ Club and co-founder of Squiz, a software company with operations in five countries.
He is a descendant of Sir Henry Blackwood (1770-1832) a thoroughly professional and admirable officer with an outstanding reputation as a frigate captain, by the time of the Battle of Trafalgar Blackwood had become one of Nelson’s closest colleagues.
