Government House will be open to the public on Australia Day and once again in support of our Patron, her Excellency, the Honorable Margaret Beazley, AC KC the Royal Automobile Club of Australia will be displaying a range of classic cars as part of the celebrations. Spots are limited so please make contact early. Entry is free so come and join the motoring committee with a picnic lunch under the Fig Trees and take the opportunity to look over our cars, take a tour through the house and enjoy the beautiful gardens that run down to the edge of the Harbour. It’s a very special day and not to be missed.
Bring your own picnic or the Boy Scouts are providing a sausage sizzle while the Royal Australian Army Band will be performing several sets during the day.
This Sunday Government House is open to the public between and the Royal Automobile Club will be displaying 15 classic cars on the day. Entry is free so come and join the motoring committee with a picnic lunch under the Fig Trees and take the opportunity to look over our cars, take a tour through the house and enjoy the beautiful gardens that run down to the edge of the Harbour. It’s a very special day and not to be missed.

Government House is the Official Residence and Office of Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, 39th Governor of New South Wales and Mr Dennis Wilson.
Her Excellency is the patron of the Royal Automobile Club of Australia and is the 28th Governor to occupy this Government House and has held the position since 2 May 2019. In 1788, soon after a British settlement was established at Sydney Cove, the first Governor of the colony of New South Wales, Governor Arthur Phillip, laid the foundations of Sydney’s first Government House.
