The Ladies Committee invite you to attend a Presentation on The Aquatic Airman. This presentation follows the dramatic formation and history of Trans Oceanic Airways (TOA) and the amazing adventure of the founder, former RAAF Squadron Leader Bryan Monkton, a unique Australian Aviator sadly overlooked in the Maritime Aviation History of Australia.

After the War, Bryan managed to purchase (with the help of a prominent friend), five War Surplus Sunderland Flying Boats and converted them for civilian use, using the Rose Bay Terminal, once the International Aviation Terminal for Australia, as his base. Trans Oceanic Airways (TOA) began operating Charter Flights to Noumea, the Solomon Islands, New Caledonia and Vila until the opportunity to begin a regular Flying Boat Service to Lord Howe Island unexpectantly presented itself!

Our Guest Speaker, Trevor Dean, was a Director and Curator of the Australian Aviation Museum, is a Lifetime Member of the Catalina Memorial Foundation and a member of the Spitfire Association of Australia. Over the years Trevor has flown a number of aircraft types including an Airship, and in 2018 brought a boyhood dream to life by flying a WWII Spitfire from former RAF Fighter Base in Biggin Hill, UK.
