Ian Macfarlane AC -Ten remarkable Australians’
Thursday 8 September | 6:30pm for 7pm | $90
In Ten Remarkable Australians, Ian Macfarlane looks back into our history to examine the lives of Australians who made their mark abroad. All were born in colonial Australia before Federation, but achieved prominence in the twentieth century before and immediately after the First World War.
They all led very interesting and often adventurous lives, but they are hardly known today. These ten biographical essays show that from early in our history Australians of talent were outward looking and prepared to be judged by world standards.
