RACA Racing’s first race day to Royal Randwick got off to a flying start on 7 March 2020 with our Treasurer Megan Lavender and a group of Members and their guests enjoying breakfast together in the Harbour Room followed by a gentle 30 minute tram ride to the racecourse.

Thanks to the Australian Turf Club, we were allowed entry into the Members’ Stand for the day, and a fun afternoon quickly unfolded. One of our group landed winning bets in the first three Sydney races, we had several other win and place dividends, and another of our party picked the quinella in the main race of the day, the $1m Randwick Guineas, with Shadow Hero and Microphone taking out the top places. Some of our group also met the connections of one of the winning horses being prepared to run in the Golden Slipper. The afternoon culminated with the last two races, which we shared in the main grandstand with a group of young racing professionals, the next generation in the industry.
