If you visited the Victoria Room during the last month we trust you enjoyed our display of the 1911 Veteran Le Zebre Car which took pride of place under the dome and chandelier. The car has a wonderful Australian history with a long term family ownership by the family of one of our RACA Members. Removal of the car took place recently and capped off our Motoring theme in and around the Club which coincides with the Annual Motoring dinner each year.
Last month, we invited RACA Members to bring along a special car for a display and tell evening in the garage, preceded by dinner in the Victoria Room. We were very pleased with the cross section of stunning motor cars on display and enthusiastic owner accounts. Cars included; Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, Volvo Convertible, Alfa Romeo, Fiat Arbarth, Daimler SP250, Triumph TR7, Range Rover Autobiography, Ford Mustang and a Bentley Turbo R. It was a very enjoyable event.
Sunday 4 November a motoring run to Southern Highland with a BYO picnic lunch at Burradoo in the garden of RACA Member David Flynn. This run will include an inspection of David’s car collection and also the collection of his neighbour, member John Milverton.
On Sunday 2 December RACA motoring will visit the race meeting for historic cars at Sydney Motor Sport Park. This event is conducted by The Historic Sports and Racing Car Association. At this event the 2018 winners of the RACA trophies will be decided.
All RACA members are invited to visit the club for Fluid Fridays which are held on the final Friday of each month. Fluid Fridays are a very informal gathering of members who come together to enjoy good company with dinner and a few drinks around the Members Bar. There is no program, no start or finish time, just comfortable companionship. The next dates are 28 September and 26 October.
