On Monday 28 August, 2017 the Royal Automobile Club of Australia’s Ladies Committee held their luncheon.
Mr Neville Barrett General Manager of the Salvos Stores (a branch of the Salvation Army) was the guest speaker. Neville has dedicated his life to helping less fortunate individuals and groups. The first Salvation Army recycling deports were opened in Australia in 1880 helping with food and accommodating men leaving prison. The Salvos have developed a multimillion dollar recycling service from these humble beginnings. The members and their guests in attendance were very impressed by Neville’s presentation and enjoyable two course luncheon.
On Monday 27 November, 2017 the Ladies Committee will hold their final luncheon with of the year, which will be a Christmas themed luncheon. Vocalist Di Solomon, will grace us with her beautiful voice. There will be sing along carolling.
I do hope to see you there.
(Mrs.) Margaret Dawes-Smith, OAM
President, RACA Ladies Committee.
