Dear Corks ‘n’ Forkers
Well, it’s been a while between drinks so to speak; however I’m pleased to report that consistent with the Club’s progressive re-opening we’ve been given the green light to proceed with our Bastille Dinner on Tuesday 14 July. Chef has crafted the bespoke menu that you’ll find in the promotion for the Dinner elsewhere in the newsletter. Ian Cook from Five Way Cellars, as he did last year, will be joining us to present the wines.
For those of you who may not have been before, our annual Bastille Dinner is the perfect opportunity after ‘lockdown’ to glam it up a bit and celebrate all things French – food, wine, fashion, style etc. There’ll be a great selection of French wines from many of Frances’s wine regions matched to Chef’s bespoke menu. There’ll also be prizes for the best dressed man, woman and couple, and a prize for the winner of our popular ‘good fun’ wine options game.
Bookings for the Dinner are now open, and can be made by contacting Yvonne Muriithi at the Club on 8273 2300 or by email at events@raca.com.au. The price per head is a very reasonable $179.
Also, you’ll recall we had to postpone our tasting/tour with the theme ‘An Old World/Australian Comparison’ that had been scheduled for 2 April. However I’m pleased to report we’ll soon be able to reschedule the tasting, and as soon as details are available we’ll be in touch.
Your Corks ‘n’ Forks committee looks forward to seeing you all at the Bastille Dinner on 14 July.
