Spring is upon us and we are beginning to notice it here in the Club. The events are slowly picking up and our Food and Beverage department is getting busier. On 24 October we will be launching our new Spring menu in the Harbour Dining Room. I would like to start by thanking all of you for your enthusiastic response to our recent membership renewal period. It promises to be a social and busy year in the Club. As you know, word-of-mouth is our most valuable tool in growing membership numbers so I encourage all members to continue to introduce family and friends to the Club in coming months.
September has also seen some fascinating gatherings in the Club where both members and guests participated.
As the warmer weather approaches, I would like to remind members of the unique opportunities available to them for professional or private events in the Club, with several sized rooms all accompanied by the Club's traditional standards of service. The Royal Automobile Club is one of the most impressive places to hold a meeting or function and as always our talented kitchen staff are keen to make you feel proud of your Club.
The next quarter also offers members many opportunities to take part in social and gastronomic events including - The Trafalgar Lunch, Henschke Wine Dinner, a Faulty Towers Dining Experience, and Melbourne Cup Lunch. The Ladies Committee lunches and Women's Pioneer Society events always provide fascinating speakers and beautiful food accompaniments. Not to forget our Jazz night and Fluid Fridays. Please do not forget that Christmas and NYE will be here quicker than you think, so please book in early.
Members will be supplied with a gratuities donation form with their statements this month. As another year is coming to an end, I would like to encourage members to contribute to the Staff Christmas Gratuities Fund, as a thank you to all the staff for their hard work throughout the 2018 year.
And finally, I'd also like to take this opportunity to invite all members to attend the 2018 AGM on October 18 at 6PM. This evening is an opportunity to meet and ask questions directly of your board.
