On the 18 October the Presidents Cocktail Party was held for long standing members of 25 years and above. It was well visited and all guests enjoyed the evening.
The Club held the AGM on Thursday the 19 of October 2017, and those of you in attendance heard the President’s message stating what a good result we were able to achieve in 2016/17. The first quarter of this Financial Year has started very well and is running ahead of budget.
This year we were once again required to run a postal ballot to elect the 2017/18 Board. We received 12 nominees for election and I would like to thank all Candidates and all voters for taking part.
The elected Directors were announced at the AGM. The Board has remained unchanged from the previous year, with one new addition: Mr Morgan Kelly. f you would all join me in welcoming Mr Kelly to the Board.
The position of President, Vice President and Treasurer were determined at the Board Meeting that followed the AGM:

May I please remind all members that the Club will be closed from the 2 of January 2018 until the 23 of January when we reopen.
As you all know, we do this so we can action large maintenance issues we cannot get to during opening times. The club also gets a major clean and freshen up. We do apologise for any inconvenience.
2017 has nearly come to an end and once again the past year has just flown by. I have now been with the Club for over 6.5 years, and I would like to thank all members for making me welcome and all your support and contributions you have made during the last 12 months and indeed throughout my time here.
As always at this time of year, we ask Members’ to acknowledge the great efforts of the team by way of gratuity, your staff are always extremely grateful for your contributions.

In October, the Club held it's annual President's Cocktail Party for it's long standing members. Needless to say, this event was a success as the honourees and their guests enjoyed a wonderful evening. A huge thank you to everyone involved in the organisation and planning of the event; a night that reflected the hard work and dedication of the staff here at the Club. The Trafalgar Dinner was also a huge success as members came together to celebrate Nelson's famous victory at Trafalgar with a beautiful three-course menu (prepared by our Executive Chef), and copious amounts of wine and port!
