18 October 11:30am - Phillips Day Commemoration
Each year we commemorate Governor Arthur Phillip's birth on 11 October 1738 in London and his role in safely bringing the First Fleet to Port Jackson. Join us for a short ceremony at Governor Arthur Phillip's statue (Macquarie Street entrance) in the Royal Botanical Gardens. Following the ceremony, Paul Nicholson the Senior Horticulturist, will talk about the history of the gardens, focusing on the contribution women have made.
In celebration, we encourage you to wear your best hat to win some fun prizes on the day. Lunch will be served at the Macquarie Room at 12:30pm and patron, Mrs Linda Hurley will be joining us for the ceremony and lunch.
Contact Mrs Lorna Stone (02) 9522 8924 for bookings and dietary requirements. RSVP by 13 October.
