With the Melbourne Storm crowned champions of the 2017 National Rugby League season over North Queensland Cowboys, it is now time to turn to the biggest sporting event in the region, the Rugby League World Cup (RLWC). The tournament will commence with the Australian Kangaroos taking on arch-enemies England in the tournament opener in Melbourne on Friday 27 October.

This will be the largest sporting event in Australia this year and the biggest year ever for International Rugby League with 14 teams, playing 28 matches across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea in the men’s tournament commencing on 27 October and six teams in the women’s competition being played between 14 November and 2 December. The final on 2 December will be historic double header to be played in front of packed audience and viewed across the world to millions of people.
