Notice of Nomination

NOTICE TO MEMBERS
NOMINATIONS FOR THE RACA BOARD OF DIRECTORS 2018/2019

Members are advised that nominations for positions on the RACA Board are now open.
Membership categories entitled to nominate are:
Associate, Concessional, The Corporate Member nominated by the Principal Corporate entity, Country, Defence, Honorary Life, Life Subscription, Town or Young Executive members. Members within these categories must have been a Member for a minimum of two years.

Nomination for Election:
Each candidate for election as a Director must be nominated by any 2 members who are Associate, Concessional, The Corporate Member nominated by the Principal Corporate entity, Country, Defence, Honorary Life, Interstate, Life Subscription, Town or Young Executive members., both of which members must be current financial members of the Club.

A nomination of a candidate for election must be: 
(1)        in writing
(2)        signed by the candidate; and
(3)        signed by the nominators

Nomination of a candidate for election must be received at the registered office of the Club no later than 5:00pm on Monday 16th July 2018

A list of candidates names will be posted on the members noticeboard as soon as practicable following this date. If the number of nominations exceeds nine (9), a postal vote is required.

Directors’ Qualifications:
No person may be a director unless that person:
(1)        is an Associate, Concessional, The Corporate Member nominated by the Principal Corporate entity, Country, Defence, Honorary Life, Life Subscription, Town or Young Executive member; and
(2)        has been a member of the Club of a category listed in (1) above  for not less than 2 years before the date of nomination as a director.

No person may be elected as a director if the person is, at the date of election, not a financial member or is on the Suspended membership list or is Suspended from membership.

No person may perform duties as a director or as a member of any committee while the person is not a financial member or is on the Suspended membership list or is Suspended from membership.

Nomination forms are available from the Secretary’s Office on Level 3 during business hours.
Those members considering nomination as a Director should be aware of their responsibilities and obligations under the following:

-       Registered Clubs Act 1976
-       Liquor Act 1982
-       Corporations Law
-       Other applicable legislation

The Directors who are elected to the Board will be announced at the Annual General Meeting, to be held on Thursday, 18th October 2018
